Kult&Ace is a marketing and PR agency specialized in connecting Gen Z and millennials with extensive brands. The company is situated in a monumental building, named Havas Village, in Amsterdam. After a relocation, the company went for an entire new look and feel. The new interior of Kult&Ace agency is based on the softness of nature with a subdued, yet fresh approach. Female interiorduo Chrissie Cremers (design/art director) and Kim de Groot (interior stylist) joined forces to create a contemporary design that highlights the preferences of Gen Z and the millennials.

When entering the Kult&Ace office, the first thing that attracts the eye is the bright and spacious showroom. New collections of internationally known brands as PUMA and Björn Borg are presented here. The showroom has been designed in a way that creates a homey and welcoming feeling.

Crowed-sourced interior

Design director Chrissie Cremers was approached to design the interior and interior stylist Kim de Groot was quickly added to the team for her extensive experience, great visual eye and contemporary view on colour. They developed three directions for the office interior. What is special is that these directions have been proposed to their target group of young creatives, stylists and influencers. The current interior came out to be the winner.

Materials and items

Finding a creative way with the use of materials was key in this project. “The budget was pretty tight for the deliverables that were set”, Chrissie mentions, “That’s why we focused on smart and efficient use of the right materials at hand”. We had to design a lot of elements ourselves using affordable material options like acrylic sheet for all the transparent tabletops, MDF board for all cabinets and EPS (styrofoam) for all display elements.” “For a lively (and also cost-efficient) touch we also sourced some vintage design elements like the double stacked Amsterdammer cabinets (Aldo van den Nieuwelaar, 1978) by Pastoe. We also upcycled the wooden office desks by repainting the surface in a colour matching our palette”, De Groot adds. Bosveld mentions: As a young, diverse niche agency we don't have the means that the bigger established agencies have. Within the restrictions, the design director and stylist still got the job done amazingly.”

Quote:

“The showroom feels like a safe space, soft and aesthetic. The roundness and softness and the colours (the toned-down colours of nature, sky and earth) corresponds with the way we work: an organic approach with a humanistic, holistic vision where all backgrounds are honoured. We are all nature and that's what the showroom reminds us of." Melanie Bosveld - Founder of Kult&Ace
